Chinar Book Festival and Reading Rooms

Conceived as Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, and hosted with the National Book Trust at SKICC from 17 to 25 August 2024, the first Chinar Book Festival brought over 1,000 publishers and 300 stalls to the city and drew more than one lakh visitors. It was declared an annual calendar event. The festival continues a line of work that began with a library and reading room for civil-services aspirants in Kulgam (2022) and continued with the Ignite Space libraries at Charar-i-Sharief and Chadoora in Budgam (2025) and a hybrid learning system linking fifteen schools at Kanir (2026).

Election Management

Three Elections in Two Years

As Returning Officer for the 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency he conducted the General Election 2024 (notification 19 April, counting 4 June), with 24 candidates in the fray and home voting for electors above 85 and persons with disabilities. As District Election Officer he then conducted the Legislative Assembly Election 2024 for all eight Srinagar constituencies, with 17 postal-ballot facilitation centres and counting at SP College on 8 October. In Budgam he conducted the bye-election to the 27-Budgam Assembly constituency, counted on 14 November 2025.
